An officer-involved shooting in Albuquerque over the weekend left one man dead, according to police.
The incident happened Saturday afternoon near Georgine and Menaul, where officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute. A woman at the scene told police she and her boyfriend had been fighting. Officers found the 33-year-old man armed and hiding behind a car.
Police say the man was ordered to drop his weapon but did not respond. Officers attempted to use non-lethal methods to disarm him and later learned he had fired a round before they arrived.
The man was shot and died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
