Albuquerque, NM — A deadly crash shut down a major stretch of Unser Boulevard in southwest Albuquerque early Monday morning after a pedestrian was struck and killed.
According to Albuquerque police, the incident happened around 6 a.m. between Gibson Boulevard and Blake Road. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, died at the scene.
Unser Boulevard is currently closed in both directions in the area as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. No information has been released about the driver or whether any charges are expected.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Suggested detours include 98th Street to the west or Coors Boulevard to the east.
