CLOVIS, N.M. — Clovis police have arrested a man in connection with a string of commercial burglaries that targeted several local businesses over the past two weeks.
According to the Clovis Police Department, officers responded to Daylight Donuts, located at 200 E. 21st Street, on the night of July 21 after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. Officers searched the business but did not locate a suspect. Detectives were called in to investigate after confirming the business had been burglarized.
Less than a week later, on July 27, officers responded to Coffee Bistro at 1717 W. 21st Street after a burglary alarm was activated. Investigators determined the business had also been broken into. Police say two additional businesses, Llano Self Storage and Siam Bistro, reported burglaries around the same time.
As detectives expanded their investigation, they reviewed evidence from multiple cases and identified Andrew Stanganelli, 35, as a suspect.
On July 28, investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Stanganelli with burglary and criminal damage to property exceeding $1,000 in connection with the Daylight Donuts case. Detectives also executed a search warrant at his residence.
Police say Stanganelli was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Curry County Adult Detention Center.
Additional arrest warrants related to burglaries at Bill’s Jumbo Burger, Siam Bistro, Llano Self Storage, and Coffee Bistro have also been served on Stanganelli.
The investigation remains ongoing.
