ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police say a robbery suspect has been safely taken into custody following a large law enforcement operation in southwest Albuquerque.
The operation unfolded near Coors Boulevard and Arenal Road SW, where officers from APD’s Southwest Area Command were attempting to arrest a suspect connected to a robbery investigation.
APD’s SWAT team and K-9 officers were called in to assist during the incident. As officers worked the scene, Coors Boulevard was closed in both directions, causing traffic disruptions in the area.
Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity or additional details about the underlying robbery investigation.
Authorities confirmed the suspect was taken into custody without incident. It is unclear when traffic restrictions will be fully lifted.
