ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are conducting an active law enforcement operation in southwest Albuquerque involving SWAT and K-9 units.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers from the Southwest Area Command are working to take a robbery suspect into custody in the area of Coors Boulevard and Arenal Road SW.
APD said its SWAT team and K-9 officers have been called in to assist with the operation.
As a result of the ongoing police activity, Coors Boulevard has been closed in both directions near the intersection with Arenal Road. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Police have not released additional information about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the robbery investigation.
