Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Taos Gorge Bridge is drawing national attention after being ranked the third most intimidating bridge for cyclists. The ranking comes from a survey of thousands of riders, who cited the bridge’s height and exposure as contributing factors. Spanning roughly 600 feet above the Rio Grande, the bridge is among the highest on the U.S. highway system. State officials say changes are coming, including plans to install an 8-foot fence and higher railings along the bridge. Additional safety options are also being considered as part of future improvements.
