Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Animal control officers in Doña Ana County removed 15 dogs from a Chaparral home after discovering severe neglect. Authorities say a search of the property revealed 21 dogs, many suffering from malnutrition and medical distress, with several found dead. Some of the surviving animals required emergency care, and county veterinarians provided ongoing treatment. Officials say the property exceeded legal limits on the number of animals allowed. The dogs will remain in county custody pending court proceedings.
