Albuquerque, NM — Two adults and one juvenile were arrested Friday evening following a confrontation with police that ended in a vehicle ramming a patrol car in downtown Albuquerque, according to court documents.
Albuquerque Police Department officers were dispatched to the top level of a parking garage near 1st Street and Central Avenue after a Real Time Crime Center camera spotted individuals inside a vehicle reportedly drinking alcohol and in possession of a firearm.
When officers arrived and attempted to make contact, the driver—identified as 21-year-old Ivan Arvilla—allegedly tried to flee the scene. In the process, he struck the side of a parked police vehicle while attempting to maneuver around it.
As officers ordered the occupants to exit the vehicle, they observed a firearm in the possession of a 17-year-old passenger. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Another passenger, identified as Eddie Spotter, was also arrested. Both Arvilla and Spotter were booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center and face charges including aggravated fleeing from a law enforcement officer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
No injuries were reported during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
