Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A judge has sentenced a former corrections officer at the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center for raping an inmate. Jared Apodaca was given three years in prison followed by five to twenty years of probation and five years, up to the rest of his life on parole. Apodaca will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life plus pay restitution to the victim. Apodaca pled guilty to criminal sexual penetration in the second degree on July 30th for a rape that occurred in August of 2023. At the time he was a corrections officer at the Santa Fe Adult Detention Center.
