Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Some of the pecan farmers in Rincon are facing millions of dollars in damages and a delayed harvest, due to severe flooding causing a levee breach. That breach submerged countless acres of farmland and properties. The waterline on homes, shops, and power poles revealed floodwaters reached multiple feet before slightly receding Wednesday. Triple A Farms suffered extensive damage, with pecan sorting and cleaning machinery submerged, along with multiple pickup trucks used for transporting the nuts. The flooding could delay the pecan harvest from December to February.
