Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico Chile Farmers faced a triple whammy this year – high temperatures, not enough water and a wandering bug infestation. The usual harvest is down 20-to-50-percent as a result. To get your green chiles this year – you might have to go South! Ed Ogaz, President of the New Mexico Chile Association says if you need green chiles, you may have to drive down to the Las Cruces area for your supply. The only good news from this year’s harvest – the red chiles are coming in now, and look good.
