Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Monsoon season has ramped up and with that NMDOT is warning drivers about rushing water and how to keep yourself safe in a flash flood. Flooding brings intense rushing water and debris to roads within minutes. To stay safe here are important tips from NMDOT: Don’t attempt to drive through flooded roads, turn around. It only takes 12 inches of fast-moving water to sweep away most cars. Don’t drive around barriers blocking flooded roads, the road may have collapsed due to the water and don’t underestimate the force and power of moving bodies of water.
