SANTA FE, N.M. — A 29-year-old woman is facing DWI charges after crashing her vehicle into a Santa Fe hotel Wednesday morning, according to the Santa Fe Police Department.
Police say the Santa Fe Regional Emergency Communications Center received a call at approximately 10:42 a.m. reporting that a vehicle had crashed into the Econo Lodge Inn.
Responding officers identified the driver as Mersi Gonzalez Zamorano, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to investigators, Zamorano was found unconscious inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by personnel from the Santa Fe Fire Department. Officers said emergency crews administered naloxone before she was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.
A hotel housekeeper reported minor injuries related to the incident and was treated at the scene. Authorities said the hotel room struck by the vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
Police have charged Zamorano with driving while intoxicated, and officials say the investigation remains ongoing.
