ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are investigating a crash in a northeast neighborhood that left one person dead.
Officers responded just before noon Wednesday to the 6200 block of Sonrisa Place Northeast, near Anaheim Avenue and San Pedro Drive, after reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.
Police say the victim, an adult woman, was transported to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.
According to investigators, the driver of a white Ford truck was in the process of dropping off two passengers when the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop. The truck then ran over one of the passengers and continued into a nearby residence.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation. Police have not released additional details.
