Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – New Mexico is mourning the loss of one of its most beloved music legends.
A family member confirmed Al Hurricane Jr. died Tuesday. He was 66 years old.
Known by many fans as “El Godson,” Al Hurricane Jr. carried on a rich New Mexico music legacy, performing for generations of fans across the state and the Southwest.
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham remembered him as a true New Mexican entertainer who brought joy, pride and a sound unique to the state.
His passing marks a major loss for New Mexico’s music community. He was 66 years old.
