ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – A Southwest Airlines flight traveling from Albuquerque to Baltimore made a safe emergency diversion Monday after a cockpit windshield cracked mid-flight.
Flight 2665, a Boeing 737, was cruising at approximately 37,000 feet when the windshield sustained damage. The aircraft was diverted to Tulsa International Airport, where it landed without incident around 4:20 p.m. local time.
No injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
Southwest Airlines said customers were reaccommodated on another aircraft and continued on to Baltimore, arriving about four hours behind schedule. The airline also credited its flight crew for safely handling the situation.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the windshield failure.
