ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – An unusual theft caught on camera at an Albuquerque distillery is drawing attention after new surveillance video surfaced.
The incident happened April 30 at Hollow Spirits’ upcoming Northeast Heights location. Video shows two individuals wearing hard hats dismantling a fence outside the property in broad daylight.
According to the business owner, the suspects were able to remove and haul away roughly half of the fencing using a trailer.
Hollow Spirits CEO and Owner Frank Holloway said the situation was surprising, especially because the suspects appeared to be legitimate workers.
Holloway described the incident as surreal, noting that the appearance of normal construction activity likely kept others from questioning what was happening.
The stolen fencing is expected to cost thousands of dollars to replace.
Despite the setback, Holloway says the business is still planning to open its new Northeast Heights location next month.
