Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – A second trial between the state of New Mexico and social media company Meta continues today in Santa Fe. The state is bringing a public nuisance case against the social media giant, alleging Meta’s platforms create specific harms to public safety through their design and operation. Attorney General Raúl Torrez says digital harm should be treated as seriously as physical harm. Meta argues it is not responsible for how some users misuse of its services.
The trial is expected to last three weeks.
