Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The lesser-prairie chicken is getting plucked, off the endangered species list. Today (WEDS) the Trump administration announced they will be removing the bird of its endangered species protection status. The animal was put on the endangered species list in 2022, following a 30 year campaign to include it. Activists worry about the oil and gas industry moving in on the chicken’s habitat, threatening the species.
