ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Bernalillo County Animal Care Services is kicking off its 2026 event season with a community adoption event at The Craftroom on Saturday, Feb. 7. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2809 Broadbent Parkway NE in Albuquerque, giving residents a chance to meet a wide range of adoptable dogs.
The department plans to showcase dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds. Every pet available for adoption will be vaccinated according to age, microchipped, spayed or neutered, and will come with a one‑year pet license. The agency does not charge adoption fees; instead, all adoptions are donation‑based. Contributions directly support Bernalillo County’s Quality of Life Community Fund, which helps provide emergency surgeries, low‑cost spay and neuter services, vaccination and microchipping clinics, leashes and collars, toys and treats, puppy pads, blankets, and other animal-related programs throughout the community.
The event marks the first in a series planned for the 2026 season, offering families and individuals an opportunity to adopt while supporting the county’s broader animal welfare efforts.
Residents who want to view available dogs ahead of time can browse the full list of adoptable animals online through Bernalillo County Animal Care Services. Pets can also be seen in person at the county’s main facility at 3001 Second St. SW in Albuquerque, with adoption viewing hours Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
