Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – A new federal grant aims to transform health care access in rural New Mexico.
New Mexico’s Health Care Authority, has received more than $211 million in federal funding to strengthen rural health care. The grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, will support the Rural Health Transformation Program. Plans include expanding services, stabilizing critical access facilities, growing the health care workforce, and advancing technology-enabled care models statewide. Officials say the investment will help hospitals and clinics that serve as lifelines in rural communities.
