Albuquerque, N.M. — Gas prices in New Mexico remain stable and close to year-ago levels, according to AAA New Mexico’s Weekend Gas Watch.
The statewide average for regular unleaded is $2.81 per gallon, down eight cents from last week and eight cents from this time last year. Among major metro areas, Santa Fe drivers are paying the most at $2.88, while Las Cruces drivers pay the least at $2.80.
Nationally, the average price is $3.08 per gallon, unchanged from last week and last year. Analysts expect prices to remain steady heading into Thanksgiving travel, supported by strong crude oil supplies and moderate demand.
