BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. — The Bernalillo County Commission has approved the purchase of a 2.3-acre parcel at 3501 Fourth Street NW for the future construction of the North Valley Center for All Ages. The resolution, sponsored by Commissioner Barbara Baca, passed during Tuesday night’s commission meeting.
The planned 23,000-square-foot facility will serve as a multi-generational community hub, connecting nearby landmarks like the Alameda Trail and Garfield Community School. Future programming may include arts, fitness, recreation, and even a café.
Commissioner Baca says the project aligns with the county’s “BernCo Builds Communities” initiative and supports revitalization efforts along Fourth Street. Once the purchase is finalized, the next steps will include community engagement, design planning, and identifying funding sources.
