ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A server at Texas Roadhouse is facing charges after a shooting that began with a robbery inside the restaurant and ended in a nearby parking lot.
According to police, 28-year-old Gabriel Sena was working at the Texas Roadhouse on Pan American Freeway Wednesday afternoon when a man entered the restaurant, asked for “Gabe,” and punched Sena in the face. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Joshua McKeough, allegedly stole Sena’s necklace and ran off.
Sena told investigators he retrieved a firearm from his car and chased McKeough about half a mile to the parking lot of Sadie’s restaurant near San Mateo and Academy. There, he confronted McKeough and fired one shot, striking him near the femoral artery.
McKeough was hospitalized in critical condition but later stabilized. Sena called 911 and waited for officers. He is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is being held without bond. McKeough is facing charges of robbery and larceny and will be booked once released from the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
