Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – A Houston man is in jail in Santa Fe on charges of Child Solicitation and Sexual Exploitation of a Child. 47 year old Gabriel Garcia, was arrested after authorities conducted an operation targeting online sexual predators. According to SFPD, Garcia was in communication with an undercover detective whom he believed was a child he was grooming for sex.
Garcia traveled to Santa Fe and attempted to meet the child in the south side of Santa Fe after arranging to pay for sex. Upon his arrival, police tried to make a traffic stop but he took off causing a pursuit and eventually was stopped and taken into custody. Garcia also had a warrant for similar crimes in Illinois.
He remains in the Santa Fe County Detention Center without bond.
