Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- As of today, June 1st, free meals and grocery assistance will be available across the state of New Mexico as part of the summer food service program or Sun Bucks initiative. Free breakfast and lunch are available for students from 1 to 18 years old as well as older students with disabilities. Also, the Sun Bucks program provides families with $120 per child on a pre-loaded card to buy groceries. If you are not part of the program you can still apply.
The goal is to distribute one million meals this summer which would be 250-thousand more than last year.
