Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A proposal to amend Albuquerque’s Minimum Wage Ordinance will be heard by council at their June 1st meeting. Several city councilors want to increase Albuquerque’s minimum wage from $12 to $15 an hour due to the rising cost of living. Albuquerque’s minimum wage hasn’t gone up since 2023. While some councilors want to change the hourly wage, some small business owners say they’d have to increase the cost of their products to make up the difference. If the minimum wage ordinance is amended, the increase will take effect on January 1st, 2027.
