Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –
Members of the Japanese Punk band Peelander-Z are recovering in Albuquerque after a serious crash during their tour. Officials say the band’s van was rear-ended by a semi-truck Tuesday, just two days into their spring tour.
All three members were hospitalized and remain in the intensive care unit with serious injuries, including broken ribs and other trauma. One member, known as Yellow, was placed on a ventilator following the crash but has since been taken off and continues to be monitored. Band members are expected to undergo additional surgeries and face a lengthy recovery.
The crash forced the group to cancel the remainder of their tour, and much of their equipment and personal belongings were destroyed.
A GO FUND ME fundraiser account has been set up to help with medical costs and recovery efforts as doctors continue to monitor their conditions.
