Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Albuquerque police have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend in downtown on Tuesday night May 19.
46-year old Michael Follette, Jr., was arrested in the shooting death of 38-year old Skye Johnson.
The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday night near the intersection of 8th St. and Central Ave. She died at the hospital.
Witnesses said they heard an argument coming from a truck, followed by gunshots, just south of the round-about at 8th St. and Central Ave.
One witness then said he saw a body, later identified as Johnson, fall out of the driver’s seat onto the road.
According to police, Follette, got out of the truck and started to shoot at witnesses in the area, no one was injured. Using Automated License Plate Readers. Follette was identified as the registered owner.
Follette is charged with an open count of murder, tampering with evidence, shooting at/from a motor vehicle and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
