ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A rollover crash Wednesday afternoon closed the right lanes of Interstate 40 eastbound near Carlisle Boulevard and left two people hospitalized.
According to Albuquerque Fire Rescue, emergency crews responded to the crash and found one person trapped inside a vehicle.
Firefighters were able to extricate the individual, who was reported to be in critical condition. A second person was also transported to a hospital for treatment.
The crash prompted the closure of the right eastbound lanes of I-40 while emergency personnel worked at the scene.
Officials said no firefighters were injured during the response.
Authorities have not released additional information about the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
