ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico State Fair has announced the winner of its annual Unique Foods Competition, recognizing one of the fair’s newest and most creative food offerings.
Taking home the title of 2026 Unique Foods Champion is Cornfields for its Hot Honey Sweet Corn, a twist on a fair favorite that combines fresh-roasted sweet corn with hot honey mayo, Flamin’ Hot Cheeto crumbs, and a drizzle of hot honey.
The competition showcases some of the most inventive foods available at the fair each year and highlights vendors known for putting unique spins on classic fair fare.
Fair officials say this year’s contest featured a variety of entries designed to showcase the creativity and flavor that have become a hallmark of New Mexico State Fair food vendors.
Visitors interested in trying the winning dish can find Cornfields in the New Mexico State Fair Food Court.
The 2026 New Mexico State Fair runs through Sept. 20 at Expo New Mexico and features food vendors, rides, exhibitions, concerts, and agricultural showcases from across the state.
