Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Vape detectors are now in 13 high schools in Albuquerque. APS has installed 93 vape detectors to help cut vaping among teenagers. Half a million dollars in opioid settlement funds were used to buy and install the detectors. The technology sends a signal to a central location at each school when it detects vapor and that triggers a response from school administration. APS used student feedback to help decide where the district focused its efforts to vaping on campuses.
