Chaparral, NM (KKOB) – Two children reportedly kidnapped in Missouri have been found safe in southern New Mexico.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the children were located in Chaparral, an area in Otero County near the Texas border. Investigators say the suspect, identified as Ralph Jones Jr., was traveling through New Mexico with the two children, along with a third child. Authorities issued an alert to law enforcement agencies in New Mexico, which led to the group being located. All three children were recovered and are reported to be in good condition. Jones was taken into custody without incident and is now being held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center. He is expected to be extradited back to Missouri, where he faces kidnapping charges as the investigation continues.
