Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – The Albuquerque Police Department released preliminary end of year crime statistics for 2025 with an overall drop in crime numbers including violent crimes which are down 13% compared to the previous year and 26% over the past eight years. The department attributes the reduction in crime to increased enforcement which it says has contributed “to the lowest crime levels in eight years.”
“Our strategy to invest in police technology and hire more civilian professionals to support sworn officers is paying off with lower crime,” Mayor Tim Keller said. “Modernization is not a theory; it is making Albuquerque safer.”
