Albuquerque- Police detectives are investigating the city’s latest murder which happened late Tuesday night in northwest Albuquerque. Officers from the police department’s Valley Command, answered a call of a shooting in the area of the 2900 block of Carlton St NW, which is east of 2nd street. As officers were arriving they found a vehicle near Unser and Montaño leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Officers later found the vehicle at Unser Blvd and Ladera, thanks to automated license plate readers. The driver had crashed the vehicle and tried to escape on foot. After a short foot pursuit, officers were able to arrest the driver and also found a body inside the vehicle.
APD investigators were then called to the scene and so far one person is in custody.
