Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Thursday saw city officials breaking ground on the first of eight new solar projects for the Duke City. The first one is at the Eastside Animal Shelter. Other sites for solar projects will include the Albuquerque International Sunport, Highland High School, the 911 Emergency Communications Center, the Daytona Transit Facility, West Mesa Aquatic Center, and Isotopes Park. Officials said the move is part of an ongoing effort to move Albuquerque closer to using 100% renewable energy.
