Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – 45 year old Angel Ramirez of Albuquerque who worked as a paralegal with the New Mexico Department of Justice, is now facing federal drug trafficking and gun charges in what the feds are calling a record drug bust.
On Oct. 28th, a U.S. Magistrate Judge authorized a federal search warrant of her home. Agents located multiple duffel bags containing large quantities of drugs, bulk U.S. money, and numerous guns. Laboratory field testing confirmed the presence of fentanyl and heroin.

Court documents state that Ramirez was employed as a paralegal with the State of New Mexico’s Department of Justice. Investigators allege that Ramirez used her government employment, clean criminal history, and internal access to the justice system to create a veneer of legitimacy while her home operated as a distribution hub for drugs, drug proceeds, and firearms. Ramirez faces no less than 15 years and up to life in prison.
