ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three people trapped on a balcony as flames tore through a northwest Albuquerque home—Albuquerque Fire Rescue says quick action saved lives.
AFR crews were dispatched around 5:00 p.m. Sunday to a two-story house after reports that multiple people were trapped. Firefighters rescued all three individuals from the balcony and transported them to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officials say the fire was brought under control within minutes, preventing further damage. In total, seven people were displaced by the blaze. The Red Cross responded to assist, but those affected told officials they would stay with family members.
AFR is still investigating the cause of the fire.
