Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –New Mexico has confirmed a sixth measles case this year after a federal inmate at the Doña Ana County Detention Center tested positive. The Department of Health says the case may have exposed anyone who was at the U.S. District Court building in Las Cruces on February 24th. Officials say all six measles cases reported in 2026 involve federal detainees in three county facilities. The state is coordinating with those centers to reduce any further transmission.
