Albuquerque VA hospital

The recent death of Jim Garcia at the Albuquerque VA hospital not only raises questions about the VA but also policies related to hospitals and companies across the country and right here in New Mexico.  The VA policy was to call 911 in the event of an emergency instead of taking someone the 500 yards from the VA hospital cafeteria to where he could have gotten instant help for his heart event. Companies for years have instituted these no fault policies to protect themselves from litigation, its no ones fault, its just a "policy" and of course you can't find real answers because no one on site can help you, these "policies" were constructed by a team of corporate lawyers and signed off on by a nameless board of directors.  Now it is literally a matter of life and death because hospitals have instituted these policies so no one gets sued, and unfortunately for Mr. Garcia these no fault policies may have contributed to his death.  How about a policy of common sense and let's do the right thing when somebody's life is hanging in the balance instead of shielding ourselves from possible lawsuits.
