BERNALILLO, N.M. (AP) A computer-assisted dispatch program could help shorten emergency response times in Bernalillo County. KOAT-TV reports that the program was implemented late last week. The cost had been incorporated into the county's budget.
Bernalillo County sheriff's Lt. Michael Garcia says it could be particularly helpful in cardiac situations where every minute counts. He says the system will help dispatch the station closest to the reported emergency.
