FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) Authorities say a suspect has been arrested in connection with an arson case in Farmington. Farmington police say 43-year-old Raymond Montano was taken into custody Tuesday.
Police say two single-wide mobile homes, two sheds and a camp trailer were destroyed early Tuesday by a fire that caused an estimated $20,000 in damage. They say flames were reported at the same location about seven hours later and Montano was located at the scene watching the second fire. He was questioned by detectives and later booked on suspicion of arson of a building.
Montano is being held at the San Juan County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond. Police believe he may also be linked to several previous fires in the area. It was unclear Wednesday if Montano has legal representation yet.
