MAN SOUGHT IN FATAL SHOOTING SURRENDERS AT BORDER

SANTA TERESA, N.M. (AP) A man sought in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy earlier this year has surrendered to authorities at the border crossing station in Santa Teresa. The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Efren Rey of Salem arranged to turn himself in to sheriff's investigators at the crossing on the U.S.-Mexico crossing Sunday night. He'd reportedly been in Mexico since the July 27 shooting of Fernando Morales of Hatch.

The sheriff's office says the youth was fatally shot in the face during an argument after Rey showed up uninvited at a birthday party for a 16-year-old Rodney girl. The sheriff's office says Rey is charged with first-degree murder and that he declined to give a statement to investigators.
