Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The New Mexico Department of Transportation has announced good news for residents in the Española area. Work is finally getting underway on the Oñate bridge in Española after being closed in June of last year due to stability concerns with the annual monsoon season.NMDOT says that crews and project materials have been ordered since earlier this month and now they say the actual work on the project is getting underway. The project which will cost around $2 million, plans to stabilize the pier and the bridge is expected to reopen by the end of April.
