Probably the most anticipated movie trailer of all time was released recently. Of course, I am talking about Star Wars. Geeks were in heaven over this 90-second glimpse at the new movie to be released in December. It’s been 38 years since the first Star Wars movie in 1977, and this movie is a real statement about modern America. We just can’t let go of our heroes, no matter how old and lackluster they are with age. Harrison Ford will star in this new vehicle and he is 72 years old. This comes after he has recently rebooted his other mega franchise, Indiana Jones, at an advanced age. Which begs the question, do we really want to see this new Star Wars movie, or as Americans do we want to relive who we were when these movies first came out? Particular movies, music, and television hold special meaning for people because we all want to go back to when we first listened to or saw these materials. The new Star Wars may end up being a great film, but for many people the best part of it will be those two hours when they won’t be themselves “now”, but themselves “then”.
