SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) A judge has rejected a plea agreement for a 23-year-old man accused of choking and trying to abduct a woman last year outside a downtown Santa Fe bar. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that First District Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer declined Tuesday to accept Ryan Catron's plea agreement because he had just been shown his plea deal earlier that day. Details of the plea proposal weren't revealed.
Authorities say the victim had agreed to give Catron a ride from the bar to his vehicle, but when they got to his car, Catron choked her and tried to force her into his car.
He is charged with kidnapping, aggravated battery and resisting, evading or obstructing a police officer.
The plea hearing has been rescheduled for Nov. 17.
