LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) Authorities have arrested a Las Cruces man on child abuse charges after he was found driving recklessly with a teenager on top of the vehicle. The Las Cruces Sun News reported Thursday that 23-year-old Dominic Estrada is now facing a charge of child abuse, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Dona Ana County Sheriff's deputies say Estrada was driving along a river levee while allowing someone to “car surf'' atop the vehicle. They say the person riding on top was a 14-year-old.
Estrada is being held on a $10,000 bond.
