Officer involved shooting in Carlsbad

New Mexico State Police say they're investigating a fatal shooting involving Carlsbad police officers. The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports that 24-year-old Troy Kirkpatrick was shot by Carlsbad police about 10 a.m. at an apartment complex. Kirkpatrick had reportedly escaped from custody and was facing burglary charges. He was taken to the Carlsbad Medical Center, where he died of his wounds.
