DALLAS (AP) A Dallas-area teacher has been found slain in southeastern New Mexico where she was visiting a friend and police have identified a person of interest in the killing. Police in Carlsbad, N.M., identified the victim as 30-year-old Emily Lambert. Police on Wednesday did not release further details on the person of interest in the homicide investigation.
Authorities say Lambert was last seen Saturday night leaving a Carlsbad bar. Her body was discovered Tuesday afternoon along a highway near Carlsbad. No cause of death was immediately released. Lambert was a teacher in the Richardson Independent School District.
The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports that Lambert's body was found near where another homicide victim's body was found in November. That woman's husband and a friend face charges in her death.
