LAS CRUCES POLICE: OFFICER SHOOTS MAN WITH HANDGUN

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) Las Cruces police say an officer shot and wounded a man while responding to a report of a possible domestic dispute. According to police, preliminary information indicates that a man who pulled out a handgun was shot by the first officer to arrive at the scene Tuesday night.

Police say the 42-year-old man was transported to a hospital for treatment of an arm wound that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Las Cruces police and a multi-agency task force will investigate the shooting.
